Location: Goa   – Private Tour: Fort Aguada, Reis Magos, Calangute Beach, Anjuna Beach, and Vagator Beach

Private Tour: Fort Aguada, Reis Magos, Calangute Beach, Anjuna Beach, and Vagator Beach
Take an 8-hour private tour to Old Goa (aka Pornnem Goem, Goeam, or Velha Goa) to visit attractions such as Fort Aguada and the village of Reis Magos. Enjoy insight from a private guide as you check out historical sites and visit three beaches.

Day 1
Meet your guide at your hotel lobby in Goa at 9am and leave to Fort Aguada and its lighthouse, a well-preserved 17th century Portuguese fort standing on Sinquerim Beach, overlooking the Arabian Sea. The fort was constructed in 1613 to guard against the Dutch and the Marathas. It was a reference point for the vessels coming from Europe at that time and initially tasked with defense of shipping. Fort Aguada was re-purposed for use as a prison primarily, some claims, for Salazar's political opponents.

Visit Reis Magos, a village famous for two of Goa’s famous structures, the Reis Magos Fort and the Reis Magos Church. Reis Magos is the Portuguese name for the Three Wise Men from the Bible. The Fort of Reis Magos was of great strategic importance because it served as the first line of defense to the port town of Goa. Stop for lunch around 1pm (at your own expenses). After lunch, see Calangute Beach, deemed the Queen of beaches. Calangute beach has developed as an excellent tourist place where many shacks and shops attract hundreds of thousands of tourists under palm tree sheds to enjoy anything they like from fried prawns to beer.
Next visit Anjuna Beach, world famous for its trance parties held on the beach during tourist season. Anjuna also hosts the famous flea market (every Wednesday) where you can purchase many things including fruits, jewelry, clothes and electronic devices. Go early if you want to hunt for bargains. Vagator Beach, which adjoins the famous Anjuna beach, is a little more laid back, though still pretty much steeped in the rave culture. However it has also become popular with Indian tourists, who particularly come to watch the sunset from the rocks. End your journey around 4pm, sit back and relax on your drive back to your Hotel in Goa by 5pm.
