Deccan Aviation provides you a comfortable journey and darshan of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi, which would otherwise be a tedious walk that would take anywhere between four to eight hours.

Day of Operation & Timing

• The flights operate DAILY

• Flight Timings - helicopter services operate from 8 am to 6 pm between Katra and Sanjichhat heliports every 15 minutes.
  The flight from Katra to Vaishno Devi (or vice-versa) takes around seven minutes.

• We use a Bell 206 helicopter which can carry six passengers

• During the lean season (January-mid March) we operate one five-seater helicopter daily. Up to 5 passengers can thus be accommodated in one flight depending on the type of helicopter. During the peak season we operate two five-seater helicopters.

Fair Structure

• Katra-Sanjichhat or Sanjichhat-Katra (one-way helicopter flight): Adult: Rs.1,350/- per person. Children between 2-12 years: 675.00. Katra-Sanjichhat-Katra (return helicopter flight): Rs.2,700/- per person. The pilgrim on production of the return boarding pass gets Gate # 3 pass at the Sanjichhat helipad. Children between 2-12 years: 1,350.00

•  Infants up to 2 years can fly free.

Reservation, Terms & Condition

• Tickets (Passenger Travel Document) can be purchased across the counter at the Katra Helipad subject to availability. Reservations can be made well in advance from any of our offices, or Designated Ticketing Agents appointed by us in some cities; the contact numbers are given below. Payments for the same should be made in advance either through Cash or Demand Draft in favour of Deccan Aviation Ltd.

•  We suggest a gap of at least four hours between arrival and departure from the shrine in order to avail of a comfortable darshan.

• Return flights booked by customers get Gate 3 passes on submission of boarding pass at the Sanjichhat Helipad.

• Baggage allowed per person is limited to five kgs per passenger.

• Children between 2-12 years are charged at Rs. 675.00 one-way and Rs. 1350.00 two-ways. Infants are carried free of cost. However, proof of age to be shown for children up to 12 years.

Some Advice & Suggestions

• Gate # 3 pass is entitled only to return journey passenger and the same could be obtained at Sanjichhat helipad.

• The Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine at Bhavan is two km from Sanjichhat helipad and connected by a paved foot route only.  On an average, pilgrims may need approximately one hour to proceed to Bhavan another hour to complete their darshan to the sanctum sanctorum and a third hour to return to Sanjichat. Hence because of the three-hour turn round, customers must be advised to plan return flights accordingly. Return flights may not be possible on the same day when the flight from Katra to Sanjichhat is undertaken in the afternoon.

• DAL shall make every attempt to accommodate requests for Palkies and ponies from Sanjichhat to Bhavan and back, the cost of which shall be directly defrayed by the passenger. However DAL reserves the right of not holding responsibility for inability to provide these facilities for any reason whatsoever.

• For booking of a Palki, DAL has to pay a booking advance of Rs.2, 360/- per Palki, while the balance is to be paid by the passenger directly to the Palki owner. In the event of cancellation of the ticket, DAL shall not be liable to refund the Palki advance amount.
