Kaladi is a village located east of the Periyar
River in Ernakulam district of Kerala. It is the birthplace of Adi Sankara, the
greatest among Indian philosophers, well known for his doctrine of Advaita. It
is a popular destination for pilgrims in Kerala. The Sri Sankara Sanskrit
University is also located here. Cochin International Airport is very near to
Kaladi.
