Nature
Wild animals like Peacocks, Wild
fowl. Rabbits, Deer, River turtles. Wild boar, and an enormous variety of birds,
are encouraged to come to 'Doctor's Farm', even at the cost of loss and damage
to fruits, so as to try and make it a 'Birds and Animals Paradise'. Migratory
ducks from Central Asia make their appearance in November and fly back in March.
Ample opportunities exist for swimming and fishing, in the river. The upper
terrace, between the months of November to March is a veritable Paradise for
Stargazers, as the unpolluted atmosphere around 'Doctor's Farm' gives an
unobstructed grand view of the celestial canopy studded with millions of stars.
Food and beverages
Expert cooks prepare food, both vegetarian and non-vegetarian, and
facilities for serving up to 150 people at a time are available. Alcoholic
beverages (though not served by us) could be enjoyed by those who carry their
own liquor
Caution
Any attempt to pluck flowers or fruits, or to litter the farm
premises, will be dealt with firmly. However, picnickers will have an
opportunity to buy any farm produce on sale.
Location:-
Doctor's Farm ', as it is known by
the locals, residing at Kolad, is situated on the Mumbai-Goa highway. It is
about 110 Kms from 'Priyadarshini building' at Chembur or about 75Km from Panvel
S.T. Stand. The approximate time taken to travel from Mumbai to Kolad by
road is roughly 2 1/2 hours.
