Mumbai-ites, we also have your special mumbai-ishtyle recipes of dal and rajma
gravies, spicy chicken garvies, fried fish and special red gravies.
All
you vegeterians, do not despair. We also serve pure vegeterian food with that
dash of the spicy coastal tinge. Ask for our special local vegetable gravies,
maharshtrian food and even fresh salads.
For
the calorie-conscious vegeterians and westerners, we have our special Pasta and
Spaghetti menu for your taste-buds. (made with locally available seasonings
though).
And
yes, if you are in the partying mood, ask for our special Barbeque-on-the-Beach
menu for the night.

Excursions:-
Sitaladevi Temple:-The
Sitaladevi temple is the most imposing and spiritual structure in the area.
Renowned as one of the few Shaktipeeths in the region, it is a veriatble
must-visit for the hundreds of the Maharashtrian devotees who turn up by the bus
load every Tuesday to offer their prayers and flowers whilst seeking the deity's
divine blessings.
Please
note that the temple is only open from 6.00 a.m. to 7.00 p.m. and that it is
compulsory to remove one's footwear before entering it.
Shirgaon Fort and Beach
:
An
auto ride takes you the Shirgaon fort, behind which you can see the Shirgaon
beach. The fort looks imposing with the Arabian Sea on the backdrop.
The
fort is overrun by bushes, making the climb precarious. Erected during the 18th
century, the fort is a maze of underground tunnels and cavernous hideouts. From
the terrace of the tower you can view the village of Shirgaon on one side and
the sea on the other.
Kelva Beach and Fort
:
Kelva
Beach is credited with seven kilometers of coastline, the largest in the region.
The beach houses a few thousand suru trees.
At
the southern end of the beach is the Janjira or the Kelva fort. The
walk to the watchtower is quiet a long haul, so be prepared to expend a fair bit
of energy. The fort is inaccessible during the high tide. But local boats are
available until sunset for hoisting the vikings to the top with the help of a
pulley.
Kelva Dam
:
10
kilometers away is the Kelva Dam, the route to which makes up an excellent
cycling trip.
Warning
:
Do
not linger on the dam/beach after sunset. This place gets very dark after sunset
and public transport is scanty. Hence, set back early before it becomes totally
dark else be prepared to have a nocturnal walk back to the resort.
Palghar :
Palghar
is an holidayers paradise with lush green orchards and verdant farm houses
providing that much needed landscaping to the coastal belt. Palghar is home to
one of the biggest orchards of one of the most softest fruits of India called "Chickoo"
which is the indian form of the kiwi-fruit.
How to Reach:-
By Road:-Take
the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Highway No. 8 to Manor via Borivali - Dahisar.
From
the Highway, take the left turn for the Manor -Palghar Road.
Bypass
Palghar on the road and head directly to Kelva.
Our
resort is on the right-side path after the Sitladevi Temple.
Look
for our sign-board on the wall after the temple premises end towards the beach
Rail Connectivity:-
Kelva
Beach is situated on the Western Express Railway Line and also has a small
station named after it called Kelwe Road station. But not many trains stop here.
Palghar
is the nearest main station from Kelva.
It
has at least
15
Express Trains and periodic
Shuttle Trains from Virar and Mumbai Central stations on the Western Railway
coming down from Mumbai city.
At
Kelwe Road or Palghar stations, special diesel tuk-tuk's aka large-sized Auto
Rickshaws are available on a sharing basis to reach the Resort at a very nominal
cost of Rs. 10 per seat.
But
if you prefer to have the own rickshaw to yourself, then be prepared to pay
around Rs.
100/-
Rs.150/-
for the entire ride.
Do
remember to alight at the Shitaladevi Temple to reach the Resort.

are located on the path right after the temple on the road towards the beach.
