Modern Residency North Sikkim Outer ViewHotel Modern Residency is located in Lachung (North Sikkim). Lachung is situated at 8610 ft above sea level and located 124kms. north Gangtok and is known for his magnificent view of Himalayas.

Modern Residency provide simple accommodation with 12 rooms. All rooms have attach bathroom and heater. There is a conference hall. Some room have snow peak view.

Lachung provide the base of an exploration of Yamthang (11,800 ft) very close to Tibetan border. Yamthang is where the treeline end, but rhododendeons still bloom. Another hours drive beyond Yamthang thake one to Yumesamdong (15,300 ft) an area where the sweet fragrance of Azellia (a plant use as incense by local) permeates the air.

Lachung's sister village, Lachen is only a recent host of tourists. Situated at the altitude of 8,838 ft.

Modern Residency (Lachung) plays the perfect host to visitors in this God Scripted land with one of the largest occommodation in the hamlet offering ample car parking space, Conference Hall which is for 60 people capacity, Bar, Library and a high level of security. All 22 rooms in the Residency are well appointed with attach bath having 24 hours running water and offers breathtaking view of the abundance of natural beauty around, whether it's the mountain heights in the clear blue skies or the Lachung river cutting across the valley. The backyard of the Residency is maked by lovely waterfall seemingly coming down from Heaven and the music generated by the splashing water waters is sure to have a amoothing effect on even the most troubled and fatigued of minds. If it is not enough then the In-House Meitation room can take care where the chanting of Monks will enhance the peace and tranquility of the sumptuous cuisine with a dosh of local specialities.

Despite all modern amenities care has been taken to keep things simple as possible and as basic as may be permittable. However at the end of the day what is additionally ensure is the Traditional Sikkimese Hospitality which will be offered at a premium.

Day 2 Lachung - Yumthang - Gangtok : Take an excursion to Yumthang Valley & Hot Spring. (11800ft / 24 kms / 03 hrs). Transfer to Gangtok. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 1 Gangtok - Lachung : After breakfast, transfer to Lachung (8600ft / 124 kms / 06 hrs). Overnight at Hotel Modern Residency.

  • Please note that Excursion to Gurudongmar,Yumseysumdong & Katau is kept OPTIONAL & is subjected to availability of permit which is available on the spot. These are three different points & is NOT ADVISABLE to guest having problem with blood pressure, knee & heart.

  • Gurudongmar is at Lachen area. In the case the permit is available one has to pay directly to the driver at the spot an amount of RS.2500 to 3000 per Jeep which varies from case to case. 

  • Yumeysamdung & Katau is two different spot located al Lachung areas. In the case the permit is available one has to pay directly to the driver at the spot an amount of RS.1500 per spot per Jeep which varies from case to case

  • Foreign Nationals & NRI's are not allowed to go to beyond Yumeysamdong in Lachung & Chopta, Thangu in Lachen areas.

  • Check in & Check out time of the hotel mentioned is 1200 hrs.

  • Once the package is booked & confirmed no refund will be allowed.

  • Please note that our Executive will get in touch or meet with the guests as advices by you in Gangtok.

  • North Sikkim operates on package only. All the Tours starts from Gangtok and ends at Gangtok and is on Full Board (Includes all PURE VEG Meals).

  • The vehicle used will be exclusive for that group but will not be at disposal. It will be as per contract.

  • Please note that this areas are cold through out the year, kindly be equipped with proper woolen / warm clothes.

  • That North Sikkim is blessed with Natural Beauty. The accommodation provided at Lachung is Modern Residency which is the best in the entire North Sikkim area, but has very basis facilities compare to Lachung
    The food prepared will be fresh, by the local trained Sherpas’s & not by Hotel chef.

  • There are no telephone lines, mobile connectivity & please be informed that many of times there is a problem of power failure.

  • The rooms are not having any Heaters due to electricity problem, so the hotelier provide Hot water pad in the bed.

  • The area is an up coming tourist destination but rich in Nature and the facilities available cannot be matched to those available in the Plains / Metros / Gangtok and other developed destination.

  • In these area none of thehotels have lift facility & in all the hotels the guest will have to climb stairs. Incase of guest having problem with blood pressure, knee & heart or if they cannot climb the higher floors, will have to intimate to us during the time of booking so that we can block, rooms at the lowest floor of the hotel enabling the guest to climbing the minimum number of stairs possible.

  • Landslide is a common happening in hilly area. Expenses incurred for diversion, due to this or any other reasons will de collected directly as per actual.
