In Tibetan, ‘Sang’ means “light” and ‘La’ means “pass” so ‘Sangla’ is the “pass of light”. It's famous for its riverside beauty and proximity to the mountains.
The Kinner Kailash dominates the view from this hamlet. The Baspa, with its crystal clear waters brimming with trout, runs through the valley. This is an ideal place for relaxing, sightseeing, trekking and fishing.
