After being in the family for fourteen generations, Raja Samar Singh and his family now offer Fort Rampura as a unique homestay destination for guests who wish to experience the true-blue feudal and country life of the erstwhile nobility of Bundelkhand. Well-connected to Lucknow, Kanpur, Jhansi, Delhi, Jaipur, Agra and Gwalior, this six- hundred year old ravine retreat provides an ideal getaway if you’re looking for a short weekend break. For travellers who like to enjoy wild India at their own pace, it’s a place to relax, unwind and discover a rich rural landscape that has been given a miss by distractions of modernity. And we are not complaining.

There are four rooms on offer :

Atiya, Manik Chowk, Kamal Burj & Daftar

The names of these rooms have been the same for hundreds of years and we decided to keep it that way.

All rooms are done up simply but tastefully. The bathrooms are spic and span with running hot and cold water.

Being a homestay destination in a rural area, Rampura is subject to an erratic power supply. We do have power backup for everything except air-conditioning and geysers.

ATIYA

Atiya is a large room on the fort terrace with a 360 degree view of the surrounding area.

MANIK CHOWK

Manik Chowk offers a view of the main central courtyard of the fort – a courtyard that houses the family deity.

KAMAL BURJ

Kamal burj is another room that overlooks the front of the fort.

DAFTAR

The Daftar was originally used as an office/study (which is what the word Daftar literally means) but now is a large spacious room, ideal for families and opens out on to a small courtyard used for barbeques and sit-outs.
