List of Rooms

Suite Room Double Occupancy

Suite Room Single Occupancy

Mountbatten Lodge is an opulent 4 suite hideaway nestled in a ruggedly scenic valley and bordered by the Kumbalgarh Wildlife Sanctuary.  We are fortunate to have two of the most important historical sites in the country on our doorstep – the famous Ranakpur Jain Temples and the mighty Kumbalgarh Fort (famous for having the second longest wall after the great wall of China).

The Lodge provides a luxurious base from which to experience the true essence of Rajasthan –  horse riding or horse trekking through jungle trails, leopard and jeep safaris, sundowners in the mountains, and interacting with local villagers. Mountbatten Lodge offers an experience of serenity and is a rural haven away from the noise and bustle of Rajasthan’s major cities.

The Lodge is an ideal two to three-night destination for those driving between Jodhpur and Udaipur.  Alternatively, day trip Safari lunches from Udaipur are a wonderful option, as the Lodge is only an 80 km drive away.

ACCOMMODATION – 4 SPACIOUS SUITES

2 Individual Suites each with a private plunge pool.

2 Interconnected Suites (family Villa-with 2 bedrooms) sharing a large swimming pool.

When creating his vision for the Lodge, the owner, Reggie Singh, drew inspiration from his family’s heritage and their shared passion for safaris and outdoor pursuits. This is reflected not only in the architecture and furnishings but also in royal ancestral portraits and photos from the family archives which decorate the numerous entertaining spaces, giving guests a unique insight into his clan’s rich history and culture.

There is something magical about a Mountbatten suite.  As well as being among the most spacious in India, each one has been beautifully designed and furnished, complete with many thoughtful, luxurious touches.  All four suites have a unique floorplan, yet all share the unmistakable blend of comfort, style and history.

Rooms are bright and full of natural light.  Large windows provide jewel-like glimpses of the surrounding jungle, and tall French doors open from each of the suites onto large individual entertaining areas with their own private plunge pool.  Local stone and marble have been used extensively throughout the property, heightening the sense of luxury.

No expense has been spared in selecting the finest furnishings, ensuring that every space is packed with texture and delightful details, resulting in an aesthetic that is a fusion of colonial heritage and modern tonality.

The bathrooms in each suite are designed for indulgence.  Built-in massage beds, twin sinks, double showers with large rain heads and outrageously large tubs will not only satisfy but delight, the most discerning guest.

Features of each suite include:

Minibar with complimentary bottled water and soft drinks

Tea and coffee making facilities and complimentary homemade biscuits

Enormous marble bathrooms, with sunken tubs, double showers and vanities

Private or adjoining sitting area

Double French doors opening onto large private courtyards with fire pits

Private pools

Individually controlled heating and air conditioning

Two of the suites have open fireplaces

Two of the suites are entered from an exclusively shared lounge area and can be booked as an interconnecting private family suite

Dinning

Lunch is served al fresco under our 300-year-old banyan tree.  Dinner is by candlelight in our glamorous tented dining room, however, we like to give guests a variety of experiences, so you might like to dine under the stars by an open fire, on the terrace of your suite, or with friends gathered around one of the many large outdoor fire pits.

After dinner, guests are drawn to the languid jazz tunes that can be heard drifting from the Lodge bar.  Decorated in the style of a traditional colonial hunting lodge, the walls are covered with rich stories of the owner’s heritage, expressed in photos passed down through the generations.  The evening generally winds up with guests reclining in comfortable chesterfields around the fireplace sharing stories of their Mountbatten adventures and Indian travels.
