The stone hedge built based on sustainability practices to mitigate the adverse impact of travel and tourism activities on the fragile environment & communities of high altitude desert. Inspired by the work of the famous architect Laurie Baker, the hotel is designed with maximum use local materials and workmen. While delivering value to our guest, we aim to maximise local and sustainable consumption and production.
We have 15 rooms and one VIP/Family suite all carefully built from mud, stone and fine fabrics . Along with its large dressing and bathroom space, the bedroom leads onto a large balcony with a view of water stream and mountains.
The StoneHedge is at a travel-strategic location easing exploration of both side of Nubra valley. The famous sand-dune is located at 1km distance.
While maximising ease, comfort and luxury to guest, we aim to provide maximum benefits to locals and its environment.

Stone Hedge is built on the concept of vernacular and green architecture. Use of mud, local stones, wood, reusable materials, solar energy and minimum plastic helps to redduce carbon footprint and adverse impact on local environment.

Stone hedge grows its own or locally source the available herbs, organic vegetables, milk, cheese, butter, local wheat for authentic ladakhi cuisines and signature dishes. We also serve home baked bread, apricot juices, filter coffee and freshly plucked paper mint tea.
Care and Comfort
Each room is spacious and furnished with king sized beds, duvet bedding, down fill pillows, safes, steam-based room heating, spacious rest rooms. All rooms are enhanced with private balcony. Snow fed stream facing the balcony offers an obstructed view of gigantic mountain range.
