Itinerary Details

This full day starts at 8.30am from your preferred pick up point within Munnar town where you will be met by our representative and proceed for sightseeing.  The tour includes visits to Eravikulam National Park (a sanctuary for the Nilgiri Tahr the endangered mountain goat of south India) and Luckom waterfalls before proceeding on the beautiful scenic road to the Marayoor Sandalwood Forest.

After visiting the forest you will be taken to the Dolman Burial Chambers known locally as the Muniyaras dating back to the Neolithic age the chambers are set on hillsides with magnificent views all around of the verdant countryside.  In this area caves, paintings and underground tunnels dating back to the same periodcan be found, clearly depicted paintings of the legendary wanderings of ‘‘Rama, Sita and the Pandavas’..

The village of Kanthalloor with its salubrious climate is in the area well known for its extensive winter vegetable and fruit growing.  Kanthallor is unique in that all its produce is grown throughout the year.  Some of the fruits that you will see on your drive include apples, oranges, strawberries, blackberries, gooseberry, peach, egg fruit and passion fruit. You will have time to stop, admire and maybe purchase some of the local produce.

Our last destination is Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary situated in the rain shadow of the Western Ghats it is known for its sandalwood forests, wild elephants, bison, flora and fauna.  You may also take a guided walk through the sanctuary with one of the park rangers at a extra cost payable directly to the sanctuary 

After your full day’s journey we will transport you to your chosen drop off point within Munnar town.
