Day 1: Arrival in Leh & Acclimatization

Fly into Kushok Bakula Rimpochee Airport, one of the highest commercial airports in the world. Transfer to your hotel and rest completely. 

Activities:

• Light evening walk in Leh Market 
• Visit Leh Palace or Shanti Stupa (only if energy permits) 
• Enjoy your first Ladakhi meal

Day 2: Leh Local Sightseeing – Sham Valley Tour

Ease into the trip with lower-altitude sights on the Leh-Srinagar Highway.

Key Attractions:

• Hall of Fame (Indian Army Museum)
• Gurudwara Pathar Sahib
• Magnetic Hill
•  Sangam (Indus + Zanskar river confluence)
•  Basgo Palace or Likir Monastery (optional)  Overnight: Leh

Day 3: Leh to Nubra Valley via Khardung La Pass

Drive over the world-famous Khardung La (5,602m) – one of the highest motorable passes. 

Route Highlights:

• Khardung La photo stop with snow-capped peaks
• Diskit Monastery & Giant Maitreya Buddha Statue
• Hunder Cold Desert Sand Dunes – Camel Safari & ATV rides

Overnight: Nubra Valley (Hunder or Sumur – luxury tented camps recommended)

Day 4: Nubra Valley to Turtuk Village – Overnight Stay

The highlight of this Leh Ladakh 7 day itinerary – travel to Turtuk, India’s last village near the LoC.

Turtuk opened to tourists in 2010 and retains strong Balti culture, distinct from Tibetan Ladakh. Overnight stay here allows relaxed exploration unlike hurried day-trippers.

Things to Do in Turtuk:

• Walk through lush apricot orchards and traditional stone houses
•  Visit Balti Heritage Museum & Home
•  Explore Thang village and viewpoint near LoC
•  Interact with friendly Balti locals
•  Try authentic Balti cuisine . Overnight: Turtuk (Homestay or boutique guesthouse – highly recommended)

Day 5: Turtuk to Pangong Tso via Shyok River Route

One of the most scenic and adventurous drives in Ladakh – the Shyok River route (Agham–Shyok–Durbuk).

 Route: Turtuk → Khalsar → Agham → Shyok Village → Tangtse → Pangong Lake

Enjoy dramatic landscapes, river views, and fewer crowds.

•  Activities at Pangong Tso (4,350m):
•  Walk along the turquoise shores
•  Photography at multiple viewpoints .  Relax at lakeside camp . Overnight: Pangong Lake (deluxe tented camp)

Day 6: Pangong Tso to Leh via Chang La Pass

Catch the magical sunrise over Pangong Lake before returning to Leh.

Route: Pangong → Tangtse → Chang La Pass (5,360m) → Leh

Stop at Chang La for photographs and enjoy the high-altitude desert landscape. Optional short stops at Shey Palace or Thiksey Monastery if time permits. Overnight: Leh 

Day 7: Departure from Leh

Morning free for last-minute shopping at Leh Market or rest. Transfer to the airport as per your flight schedule.
