Kochi (Kochi) is palm-green commercial town of Kerala and the city consist of the mainland Ernakulam, Willingdon Island, Mattancherry, Fort Cochin, Vypeen Island and Bolghatty Island. Ernakulam is the modern city where shopping market, basaar etc are located. From time immemorial, Arab, Chinese, Dutch and British and Portuguese seafarers followed the sea route to Kochi and left their impression on the town. The Chinese fishing nets swaying in the breeze over backwaters, the Jewish Synagogue, Dutch Palace, Portuguese architecture, Boghatty Palace in Kochi enrich the heritage of Kerala.

Itinerary :

 

Day 1:

* Pick up from Cochin Hotel at 09:00AM  & Move on towards Palayoor

* On arrival at Palayoor Visit St. Thomas Church  - The Church at Palayur is unique in that the present church has a continuous history of two millwnnia and stands on the same spot where Apostle first established it. The First Church founded by St. Thomas Continued to exist for many centuries.

* Move on toward Kodungallur & Visit Azhikode Marthoma Church - The Marthoma Church is located on the bank of River Periyar.A Holy relic of St. Tjomas the Apostle of jesus is enshrined here in the Sannidhi, for Public Worship.

* Then transfer to Paravur & Visit Kottakavu Church - Kottakavu Church is said to be one of the seven churches founded by St. Thomas during 52 A.D. It is also known as Valiyapally or Big Church, indicationg that it was a Mother Church.

* In Paravur Visit One more church name of St. Thomas Jacobite Syrian Church - St. Thomas Jacobite Syrian Church was founded in AD 1566. It is said to have been constructed by the Big Bazzar Tharakan Families in North Paravur on the Land given free of tax  by the ruler of Paravur.

* Evening Pick up from Paravur & transfer to Kanjirapally. Overnight stay at Kanjirapally

 

Day 2 : 

* After Breakfast Pick up from Kanjirapally & Transfer to Bharananganam 

* Visit Bharananganam  Church - The Bharananganam  church which is 1000 years old is also known as Anakkallu Church. The Church was first built during 1004 AD. Here can visit St. Alphonsa Tomb, Convent Museum also.

* Then Proceed & visit pala Mariyasadanam Rehabilitation Centre

* Leter drive to Nazrani Tharavadu for Lunch will be on direct cost.

* After lunch drive to Kuravilangadu. The Land of Kuravilangad is blessed by the esteemed presence of St. Mary's Florane Church which was built in 105 A.D (Just one hundred years before Constantine declared Christianity as the offical religion in the Roman Empire)

* Then Proceed toward Mannanam - Mannanam is an important pilgrim centre for Syrian Christians in Kerala. The place is the Birth place of Father Kuriakose Elias of Chavara (1805- 1871). One of the Saintly figures of the syrian Catholic Church. The Famous St. Joseph's  Monastery is located here. The Mannanam Church is a great spot to watch beautiful sunset and to experience clamining twilight.

* Evening return Drop at Kanjirapally. Overnight stay at Kanjirapally 

 

Day3 : 

* Experience Backwater of Kerala by Houseboat & drop at Cochin Hotel / Railway Station / Airport.

  • Visit St. Thomas Church ,  Azhikode Marthoma Church ,Kottakavu Church , St. Thomas Jacobite Syrian Church , Bharananganam  Church, Mariyasadanam Rehabilitation Centre, St. Mary's Florane Church , St. Joseph's  Monastery
