Mahabaleshwar is situated at a distance of 120 Kms from Pune and 260 Kms from Mumbai. It’s very close to Satara, the nearest Rail head at a distance of 45 Kms. A small detour of 40 Kms from the Mumbai – Goa highway at Poladpur takes one to Mahabaleshwar through the winding ghats. Though the more popular route is via Pune – Bangalore highway.
