Restored in stone, log & cast iron splendour, we are a boutique hotel that seeks guests looking for a warm and friendly ambiance, replete with fine wooden paneling, plaster work, antique furniture & beautiful objects of art. Cochrane Place is perched high up on a ridge and our rooms overlook the mighty Himalayan mountain range or lush tea gardens far below. Combining old world charm with modern contemporary amenities our rooms are cozy& comfortable. We have a total of 31 rooms and three room categories- Deluxe, Standard and Family Suites.The well appointment rooms reveal their distinct character & reflect the spirit of the British Raj with antique Burma teak beds, wooden paneling, handcrafted furniture, faux fireplaces & sweeping views of the tea valley and mountains. The rooms are designed uniquely, to reflect their individuality
Located in the original wing of the hotel, each of the rooms in the Deluxe Category have been named after the magnificent peaks of the Eastern Himalayan mountain range. The rooms are spacious and have a balcony overlooking the valley and tea gardens. Each deluxe room is spacious and has little seating area. Furnished with burma teak beds and memorabilia, these rooms are a must for those who are looking to soak in a bit of history!
There is provision for an extra bed & the maximum sleeping capacity of the room is 3 adults.
There are 9 Deluxe Double rooms & 1 Deluxe single Room
Located in the original wing of the hotel, the family suites have also been named after the magnificent peaks of the Eastern Himalayan mountain range. Ideal for a family of 4-5 people, these rooms comprise of a Large double bed and two single beds. They have a large balcony offering breathtaking views of the valley and mountain range.
There is a provision for an extra bed & the maximum sleeping capacity of the room is 4 adults.
There are 3 family suites in total
We introduced the Standard room category in 2007, the rooms are located in the new wing, “Annex” wing of our hotel. In contrast to the Deluxe & Family suite categories, the Standard rooms are more compact making them cozy and warm. They are simply furnished and affordably priced. Seeking inspiration from the Railways, each room has been named after the famous Railway sectors & Spices native to the Indian subcontinent.
The maximum sleeping capacity is 2 adults, there are however a few Standard rooms where provision for an extra bed can be made.
We have 15 standard double rooms, 3 Standard Single Rooms
